Menéndez: “There is no other option to face the war than to strengthen internal production”

This Wednesday, the vice president and minister of People’s Power for Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, called on the youth to strengthen national production to overcome the unilateral coercive measures imposed against our country: “There is no other option to face the war than to strengthen the internal production ”.

During his speech at the Congress of Public Policies for Bicentennial Youth, held at the facilities of the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES), Menéndez stated “In view of the blockade, it is demanded to maximize the broken links that the productive chains of our country”. In this sense, he highlighted that oil rentism led to our production system being one of assembly, since the raw material is imported.

“The specialization in the broken links that the Venezuelan productive system has, will bring us not only to prepare for the future, but to catalyze processes of the economic blockade that has occurred against Venezuela and thus break with oil rentism.”

Likewise, the Vice President of Planning indicated that our country is currently experiencing what is known as the Demographic Bonus, “a moment in the history of a country, which occurs only once, where the majority of the population is in the productive stage.” therefore, he called on young people to specialize in prioritized productive areas.

On this, he pointed out that it is important to strengthen the economic-productive activity of the country, linked to the engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, which represent the dynamism of the nation’s economy. Therefore, he stressed that a specialization is demanded within the educational system.

Likewise, Minister Menéndez reiterated that the Youth sector has a Programmatic Agenda, framed in the Homeland Plan: “which was not formulated by a bureaucrat, but by the youth in the different congresses. Here the different programmatic lines of work are defined, the challenges for the development of the Sectoral Plan ”.

To conclude, he assured that “What makes this revolution irreducible is that the youth is committed to the ideas and deeply Chavista roots”, in the same way, he praised the role of youth in the construction of a revolution. “We are here to make a revolution, a revolution means moving the foundations of society ”.
