“In order to balance the political accounts of income recovery in order to reward the economy and the sustenance of the social rights of the people in Venezuela, has emerged a private business sector that loves the country and is working with its own capital to get out of the asphyxiation imposed by the United States (U.S.) government against the Republic”, highlighted this Monday President Nicolás Maduro.
During an interview offered to Opera Mundi, he stressed that the fundamental aspect of this economic stage is the recovery of income: “Venezuela in this period has raised food production, the functioning of the industrial apparatus and has achieved the support of the nationalist private sectors”, he emphasized.
He affirmed that as part of the strong blockade imposed by the US and some European countries, the country has been victim of the most brutal financial persecution known in 100 years.
“They have stolen all our bank accounts in the world, they have stolen more than 40 billion dollars, the oil industry has no bank accounts in the world; they have also sanctioned our industries, the use of cryptocurrency. However, the people have resisted and that shows that even though they have hurt us, we have not given up. Our economic policy has been focused on production”.
Likewise, he reiterated that as part of the illegal coercive measures, Venezuela lasted 14 months without selling a drop of oil in the world, going from 56 billion dollars of annual income to 700 million dollars during 2020.
He assured that the conscience of the people and of the private companies that bet on the country is what has allowed that the policy of asphyxiation could not surrender Venezuela down.
In the “20 Minutos” program, hosted by journalist Breno Altman, the National President expressed that the fundamental of the economic policy is the recovery of income, the creation of a system of economic balance where “Venezuela continues to overcome shortages”.
“This is possible thanks to the level of resistance that has been maintaining the functioning of the industrial apparatus to satisfy the needs”, he acknowledged.
Venezuela enters a new political cycle with a new National Assembly
On other issues, the Head of State pointed out that with the new National Assembly (AN) the country entered a new political cycle that will bring stability, recovery and peace to the people.
“This new NA covers all its political space. It is a reality that Venezuela is overcoming the stage of a Parliament that got down on its knees to the empires. We are coming out of an AN that bowed down before the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR). Venezuela as a country, together with its institutions and its people, wants recovery”.
He indicated that since 2017 when the extreme right wing called for the guarimbas (riots), the country has endured four years of supremacist policy by the outgoing government of Donald Trump, which permanently attempted destabilization accompanied by threats and international invasion.
“Commander Hugo Chávez was the great democratizer of unity, that is why people’s power is very powerful and my legacy is to follow inclusive policies; out of 25 processes we have won 23; I have been elected with the vote of the people. I am not a President to be threatened, here there is a people that is alert before threats, we have not allowed ourselves to be colonized”, he sentenced.
