Venezuela denounces outgoing U.S. government for attacks and damage to the country during Trump’s administration

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounced this Tuesday those who led the outgoing government of the United States (US) for the attacks and damages caused to the nation during the administration of Donald Trump.

A communiqué published by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, manifests the wish that the main actors of the financial and economic aggressions executed against the country respond before international justice.

Following, the text of the full communiqué:

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces before the international community a new desperate aggression against the Venezuelan people by the outgoing government of Donald Trump.

Until the last day remained the supremacist and imperialist aggression that Trump maintained in its ferocity against the people of Venezuela, launching attacks and confiscating properties with the purpose of destroying the capacity of the country to freely commercialize, as is its right, its oil resources to attend to the needs of the Venezuelan people.

In spite of these four years of sustained and merciless aggressions, in spite of the indolence and the contempt for international law, the Venezuelan people and its revolutionary government today continue to stand, with their proud foreheads and their dignity intact, while those who have governed the United States during this period come out discredited, with the repudiation of their own people whom they defrauded with their supreme excesses.

Venezuela hopes that sooner rather than later, they will answer to international justice for the damage they caused to the noble Venezuelan people.”
