Head of State commemorated 13 years of the installation of the PSUV’s Founding Congress

This Tuesday, President Nicolás Maduro commemorated the 13th anniversary of the installation of the Foundational Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv).

Through his (account on the) Twitter social network @NicolasMaduro, he congratulated the militants for their powerful capacity of mobilization that has allowed them to achieve great victories: “Let us advance with leadership from the bases, in this new beginning,” he wrote.

On March 2, 2008, in the San Carlos Barracks in Caracas, a plan for ideological and political formation began, in which more than 1,600 delegates participated.

At the installation of the Foundational Congress, the delegates of the different circumscriptions were present, who later became the spokespersons to multiply the information to the socialist battalions in their regions.

Then all this structure, representing around 1,200,000 active members, would take part in the second degree election of the maximum leadership body, on March 9, 2008.

On March 14, 2008, Hugo Chávez, proclaimed president of the Party by the Congress, swore in the National Directorate of the PSUV in the Municipal Theater of Caracas.

In a massive act held at the Poliedro de Caracas on March 29, 2008, Commander Chávez also announced the Work Commissions of the National Directorate and the Regional Vice-Presidencies of the PSUV.
