The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted on Tuesday the medical advances in the fight against Covid-19.
During the Annual Message to the Nation at the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, he recalled that “Venezuela discovered the first drug against Covid-19 with the DR10 molecule.”
In turn, he emphasized the strategic alliances with Russia, China, Cuba and Turkey, countries that have supported the country with medicines, material and medical personnel in its fight with the pandemic.
“Very soon the first 10 million Sputnik-V vaccines will be arriving in Venezuela,” reported the Head of State, who also announced the arrival of the Sovereign 2 vaccine, developed in Cuba through Alba-TCP.
He also reflected on the ravages of Covid-19: “The pandemic, as I have already said, exposed the perversity of the capitalist model that took its worst face by prioritizing finances, banking and currencies over life, as if a world only of money, without people, “said President Maduro.
“The United States, Brazil and Colombia, (are) countries that attack us with current epicenters of the pandemic,” stressed the dignitary, noting that the US has 300 thousand cases per day, Brazil registers 70,000 and Colombia 18,000, while Venezuela confirms only 300 infections per journey.
Finally, he emphasized the work of the National Executive, who despite the sanctions have “brought the best treatments in the world to provide free care to patients.”
