President Maduro congratulates Pope Francis on his birthday

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated Pope Francis on his 84th birthday on Thursday.

«”The Homeland of José Gregorio Hernández, celebrates the birthday of the Pope @Pontifex_es. We wish on this day that humility and goodness illuminates his heart so that he continues carrying his message of encouragement and hope to the humble peoples of the world. God Bless him Always!” expressed Maduro on his account on the Twitter social network.

Pope Francis was born on December 17, 1936 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the name of Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

He was appointed as Pope of the Catholic Church on March 13, 2013 in the fifth vote taken during the second day of the conclave, following the resignation of Benedict XVI from the pontificate.
