President Maduro advocates dialogue to restore balance in Venezuela

On the occasion of the 201st anniversary of the Fundamental Law of Colombia, instrument that originated the union of the territories of New Granada and Venezuela, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged joining efforts for the sake of a dialogue that allows restoring the balance economic, social and political of the nation.

Through a communiqué presented by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, pointed out that “inspired by the message of union expressed by our Liberator” he advocates understanding as a mechanism to overcome disagreements.

“I want to reiterate my call to the entire country to rally around a national effort for dialogue and understanding that will open the doors of recovery and reestablishment of the nation’s economic, social and political equilibrium,” emphasizes the document.

On behalf of the Head of State, Rodríguez stressed that “it is a propitious day to remember our Bolívar, to embrace his legacy in the happy fact of being his sons and daughters” in order to commemorate the 190th anniversary of his death, occurred on December 17, 1830.

It is a “day of national mourning, sadness and regret for the memory of Bolivarians,” he pointed out, recalling that “dejected by the betrayals and conspiracies of the already nascent oligarchies, with diminished health to the extreme, our Liberator, there in Santa Marta, in the Quinta San Pedro Alejandrino passes to immortality”.

At that moment, all the demons that are fighting to separate Colombia are unleashed. Just before dying, the Liberator gives an accurate demonstration of the great strategic awareness that he still has and confirms the magnitude of his leadership, he launches his last proclamation dictated just seven days before his departure, where he leaves for us the eternal echo of his call to unity”, reads the letter presented in the Mausoleum of the Liberator, located in the National Pantheon.

It was the Gran Colombia the materialization of the objective set by the Liberator from the beginning of his military career, a unitary scheme that would guarantee the freedom of America:

The Republic of Colombia was born by the will of the Liberator. The Congress installed in Angostura, on the banks of the Orinoco river, approves the Fundamental Law of Colombia, an instrument that creates the legal framework, with constituent breath, where the union of the territories of New Granada and Venezuela is decreed,” he added.

Previously, the Vice President of the Republic led the delivery of a floral offering before the sarcophagus that preserves the mortal remains of Simón Bolívar, accompanied by members of the Executive Power.
