Venezuela advances in lawsuit before ICC against US government authorities promoting criminal blockade

“Venezuela advances in its lawsuit against US government authorities, who through the criminal blockade attack the Venezuelan people in a systematic way,” announced this Tuesday the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, through a message posted on her account on Twitter

She ratified that the Bolivarian Government led by the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, has consigned sufficient evidence, evidence and confessions that support the lawsuit that is ongoing before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

For his part, the Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, indicated that the ICC prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, confirmed that she received the report from the Attorney General, Tarek Wilian Saab, as part of the cooperation: “She also continues studying our lawsuit against US officials for crimes against humanity as a result of the sanctions”.

Bensouda published the annual report on preliminary examination activities in which are outlined the activities carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office during the period from December 6, 2019 to December 14, 2020, in relation to ten situations in preliminary examination.

Among the ten situations, two new preliminary examinations are detailed after the Party State‘s remissions received from the Government of Venezuela and the Government of Bolivia, and announced its determination of the matter regarding the situation in Venezuela.
