Venezuela receives 32 tons of medical supplies and vaccines from UNICEF

This Sunday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that Venezuela received a donation of medical supplies and vaccines for the Venezuelan people from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Through a contact from the Simón Bolívar International Airport, located in La Guaira state, the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, specified that, thanks to the international cooperation established with UNICEF, 32 tons of medical supplies were received:

“We are receiving more than 5 million doses of vaccines to complete the coverage of our boys and girls, medicines, kits for childbirth attention and medical equipment,” he said.

In this regard, the Head of State assured that it is about the vaccines: Trivalent viral, BCG, DTP – a mixture of three vaccines that immunize against diseases caused by diphtheria, bordetella pertussis and tetanus – and Anti-Polio.

Likewise, he thanked UNICEF for donating this cargo of humanitarian technical aid.

In this sense, the dignitary expressed that “I have to acknowledge UNICEF, which has been supporting the people of Venezuela. Today we have received a significant shipment of medical supplies in the framework of Operation UNICEF ”.

As part of the strategies to overcome the economic and commercial blockade illegally imposed by the United States government, Venezuela has strengthened its cooperative relations with countries of the world and multilateral entities that have allowed the reception of more than 2,115 tons of medical supplies up to the date.
