UN approves Resolution to work together between the Office of the High Commissioner and Venezuela

This Tuesday, the United Nations Human Rights Council approved a resolution that seeks to strengthen the joint work between the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, and Venezuela, as reported by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza.

Through his account in the Twitter social network, the Minister for Foreign Affairs indicated that, as expressed days ago by the President of the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro to Bachelet: “the commitment of our country with Human Rights is absolute”.

He maintained that, in spite of the fierce pressure from the United States (US) and its satellites in the Human Rights Council, the Resolution was approved In order to avoid this action, however, he affirmed that the inexplicable vote of some countries that claim to be human rights defenders but do not support a resolution to strengthen them, is strange.

For his part, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, thanked the free and sovereign governments for supporting the resolution:

“The idea is not to be any aggression and that no interventionist politics are made using human rights as a pretext”, he said.
