President Maduro presents Anti-Blockade Law draft to the ANC

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, presented the draft for the Anti-Blockade Law to the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) on Tuesday, given the threats of a military intervention and the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States (USA).

The activity took place in the Legislative Palace, headquarters of the ANC, with the presence of the Executive and Ministerial Cabinet, as well as part of the diplomatic corps that reside in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan head of state indicated that this bill will provide “the Venezuelan State with institutional and legal capacities and management tools to face and overcome the most perverse, widespread and brutal aggression that our country has suffered in 200 years of republican life”.

During his speech, the National President requested that this bill should be debated by the Venezuelan people to “give it information, create more awareness, but (also) to generate strength for the future and explain many things that have had to be in silence”.

Similarly, he emphasized that the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the US – intensified during the Donald Trump administration and in the face of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic – is part of a doctrine of the North American nation to generate a change of regime in the country, for one that responds to their interests.

It should be noted that, as a result of the economic and financial blockade, Venezuela has lost more than 30,000 million dollars, in addition to having assets and accounts frozen abroad, which could be used to meet the needs of the Venezuelan people.

Likewise, the Venezuelan refinery in the United States, CITGO, and the Monómeros petrochemical company, located in Colombia, were stolen from the Venezuelans – with the support of the right wing -, as well as 31 tons of gold that are retained in the United Kingdom.
