Venezuela ratifies cooperation with UN Human Rights Council and reiterates its rejection of the practice of engaging in politics with human rights

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, confirmed that the National Government and all Venezuelans cooperate widely with the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN), but rejects and will never acknowledge the perverse practice of doing politics with the human rights instead of making human rights policies.

“Since December 2, 2019, we have affirmed that we do not acknowledge any politicized and inquisitive mechanism created for ideological purposes by countries with terrible human rights records, to attack Venezuela and try to damage the relationship with the Office of the High Commissioner”, spread the high Venezuelan diplomatic representative on his account on the social media, @jaarreaza.

“A report plagued with falsehoods, prepared remotely, without any methodological rigor, by a phantom mission directed against Venezuela and controlled by governments subordinate to Washington, illustrates the perverse practice of doing politics with human rights, instead of making human rights policies”, bluntly said Arreaza.

He reiterated that Venezuela has generated broad cooperation with the UN Human Rights Council, and in a coordinated and constructive manner with the Office of the High Commissioner. “Progress has been remarkable and this has been acknowledged by Mrs. Michelle Bachelet when announcing the renewal of our relationship”, he concluded.
