Eight ministers of the Executive Cabinet are nominated as candidates for the National Assembly

 

Eight members of the Executive Cabinet will go as candidates of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to the National Assembly (AN), ahead of the parliamentary elections that will take place on December 6, as said on Tuesday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

The Venezuelan head of state explained that the ministers of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez; for Communes, Blanca Eeckout; for Youth and Sports, Pedro Infante; for Women, Asia Villegas; for Ecological Mining Development, Gilberto Pinto; for Urban Agriculture, Gabriela Peña; for Indigenous Movements, Aloha Nuñez; and for Penitentiary Services; Iris Varela; will go to the electoral battle.

He detailed that the current ministers were requested by popular forces in different regions of the country, for which he has considered the requests with the signing of the constitutional decree, which indicates that by September 5, all of them must be separating from their respective positions, to assume the electoral call.

“We are going to form a good team and comply with the rules of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and I will sign the decree to replace all the companions”, he said during a video conference with the representatives of the communes in the country.

He urged candidates who have public office to put aside their institutional functions, in order to comply with the constitutional obligation in the face of the parliamentarian elections of December 6.

For his part, the sectoral vice president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Aristóbulo Isturiz, stressed that this is the opportunity to rescue the AN with the unity of Venezuelans.
