
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Monday called on his Colombian counterpart Iván Duque to worry about the massacre against 14 young people recently in Colombia, and not for acknowledging or not the (Venezuelan) parliamentary elections of December (6), 2020.
«Duque met with Robert O’Brien, and the order they gave him is not to acknowledge the parliamentary elections. Do worry about the recent massacres in your country (…), We don’t care what you think», emphasized Maduro, detailing that Chancellor Jorge Arreaza updated him on this conversation.
August 10 was shocking after a massacre in La Cali, southwest of Colombia, where five adolescents between 14 and 15 years old were found on Tuesday, riddled with gunshots and with torture marks, in a sugar cane field in the Llano Verde neighborhood.
Moreover, this weekend was attempted against other young people, this time nine murdered in Samaniego, in the department of Nariño, in the southwest of that country.
The massacre was perpetrated by unknown persons who shot a group of boys, who according to the first information were university students who were back in their town due to the coronavirus quarantine, as reported local media.
In addition to the condemnation by the Colombian society, international organizations have expressed their repudiation of this multiple crime.
The authorities promised a thorough investigation of this multiple crime. but so far its perpetrators remain «unknown.»
