COVID: 1,097 community cases and 51 imported were detected in the last 24 hours

A total of 1,097 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 51 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the total number of infections to 33,755, of which 22,700 have been recovered, which is equivalent to a 67 %.

The information was released this Sunday by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, during a COVID-19 balance work session led by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, in Caracas.

Regarding the community cases, she specified:

Capital District: 399 new cases, in the 22 parishes, the highest record since the start of the pandemic.
La Guaira: 197 new cases.
Miranda: 168 new cases.
Nueva Esparta: 136 new cases.
Zulia: 60 new cases.
Anzoátegui: 26 new cases.
Aragua: 20 new cases.
Barinas: 19 new cases.
Falcón: 18 new cases.
Guarico: 17 new cases.
Apure: 15 new cases.
Cojedes: 10 new cases.
Portuguesa: 8 new cases.
Lara: 3 new cases.
Amazonas: 1 new case.

Regarding the imported cases, she indicated that 49 cases are coming from Colombia, and 2 from Peru.

She added that to date there are 10,774 active cases.

For his part, the President regretted reporting the death of 5 people from the COVID-19 infection to raise the number of fatalities to 281. It is a 72-year-old man from Aragua state, another 70-year-old man from the same state and a 68-year-old woman from Aragua state; also a 73-year-old man from Táchira state and a 74-year-old woman from Sucre state.
