Venezuela reports 72% of patients recovered from Covid-19

Venezuela registers until this Wednesday a number of recovered patients that reaches 72%, of 29,088 people who have been infected; 21,042 have overcome the disease, as reported the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.

“Today, Venezuela reaches the number of 29,088 Covid-19 cases, of which 7,799 are active, 21,042 have recovered (72%)”, detailed Rodríguez on his Twitter account, giving the daily report of the evolution of coronavirus in the country.

Last week, Venezuela registered 54%, a figure that increased due to the measures implemented by health authorities to contain the deadly virus.

The country in the last three weeks has seen a growth in the number of infections, somewhat due to the high percentage of foreign cases; mostly from Colombia and Brazil, epicenters of the pandemic in the region.

In addition, it is added the illegal passage through trails of nationals fleeing due to neglect in neighboring nations and the current health crisis being lived due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

A recurring aspect is the so-called Covid-19 parties; detected in popular sectors of the country and the middle class, which represents a source of spread of the virus, before which the national government has launched an awareness device to enforce the national quarantine measure.

Venezuela reported 1,150 new Covid-19 cases today, of which 1,119 are of community transmission and 31 cases are imported from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil, as reported Vice President Rodríguez.

She indicated that the Capital District once again has the highest number of infections with 249, 219 in Miranda state and 110 in La Guaira.

The death toll reached 247 when nine fatalities were confirmed on August 12, after 150 days of quarantine in week 22.
