Venezuela reported a total of 995 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, of which 876 were by community transmission, in addition to 119 imported cases, as reported the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.

In this regard, the national authority stressed that, of the community transmission cases, 306 correspond to the Capital District, scattered in the 22 parishes of the entity:

«There are 40 cases in the Sucre municipality in Catia, 45 in El Valle, 25 in San Juan, 23 in Altagracia, in La Vega, Macarao and Antímano 15 cases (in each of these parishes), 14 in El Recreo, 12 cases in El Paraíso, 11 cases reported on 23 de Enero, (9) cases in Coche and La Pastora, (7) cases each in the San Pedro, Santa Rosalía and San José parishes, Caricuao (6) people, San Agustín (5), Santa Teresa (4), San Bernardino, La Candelaria, El Junquito (3) with infected in each one”.

Likewise, Rodríguez reported that throughout the states of the country there are registered 145 infected cases in Monagas state, 122 in Miranda, 94 in Mérida, 57 in Zulia, 45 in Bolívar, 23 in Sucre, 21 in La Guaira, 14 in Yaracuy, 12 cases in Apure and Barinas, 10 in Guárico, (8) in Lara, (6) in Táchira and one case in Nueva Esparta state.

Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also stated that, of the imported ones, 98 are coming from Colombia, 11 from Brazil, (6) from Ecuador and (4) from Peru.

“We receive our compatriots and serve them with all the protocols (…), we do not leave them on the streets”, she emphasized, while rejecting those who intend to continue generating a false matrix.

She highlighted that, of the total of confirmed cases in the country, 63% have fully recovered, with 9,641 still active, 6,680 cases are asymptomatic, 2,731 are in mild condition, 156 are moderate and 74 are in serious condition in Intensive Care Units, receiving “all necessary attention”.

Regarding the confirmation of deaths in one day, she expressed: “We regret this Monday the death of (6) Venezuelans for a total of 229 deaths; an 80-year-old man from Miranda state of the Baruta municipality, another one from Sucre municipality in Petare, the third case is another man from the José Casanova Godoy parish in Maracay and a woman from Palo Negro in Aragua state, likewise, the fifth case is from Valle de la Pascua, in Guárico state, and the last was a 68-year-old lady from Porlamar, in Nueva Esparta state”.

In Venezuela, she said, massive house-by-house screening and rapid tests have been carried out for a total of 1,596,120, representing 53,204 applied per million inhabitants.

“By searching for cases, searching for the chain of infections, isolating cases, we reach them early and are guaranteeing treatment for the entire population”, concluded the vice president.
