287 new Covid 19 cases were registered this Sunday in Venezuela

Venezuela confirmed this Sunday 287 positive cases for Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing the numbers of those infected by the outbreak to 9,475, as reported the Minister for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez.

The Minister for Communication reported that 230 cases are of community transmission, and 57 cases are imported.

Regarding community transmission cases, 116 are located in the Capital District, 65 in Bolívar and 25 in Zulia state.

Positive cases were also detected in Monagas (13), Táchira (5), Sucre (1), La Guaira (1), Carabobo (1), Barinas (1), Apure (1) and Aragua states (1).

Of the cases confirmed this Sunday, nine correspond to minors.

Regarding imported cases, 40 are Venezuelans coming from Colombia, six from Peru, six from Ecuador and six from Brazil.

As of this Sunday, 6,705 Covid-19 cases remain active, of which 5,830 are isolated in hospitals, 794 in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 81 in private clinics.

These data, indicated the Minister for Communication; 99% of the patients are in hospitals in the public health system, and 1% in private clinics.

Likewise, it indicated that 6,112 patients are asymptomatic, 550 patients have mild respiratory failure, 18 have moderate respiratory failure and 25 patients are in intensive care units.

Similarly, there are four new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the number of fatalities to 89.

Regarding the deceased, two are located in Sucre state, another one is a health worker from the Caricuao parish, in Caracas; and one is from Zulia state, a product of the Las Pulgas market focus.

“Important: Whenever you feel, or have any symptoms, where you have any symptoms that may be confused with influenza, with general discomfort, the first thing to suspect is a Covid-19 infection”, stressed the Minister for Communication while sending – on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro – his condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

The number of recovered already rises to 2,671 people discharged, with negative PCR tests; which represents 28% of the total cases.
