President of the Republic indicated trail migrants are the cause of outbreak of the virus in the country

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported this Sunday that the so-called “trocheros” (trail migrants), who violated sanitary regulations on the border with neighboring countries.

“Between 30,000 and 50,000 trocheros entered the country (through illegal trails), of them some 3,000 infected, who went through almost the entire national territory, to infect their families”, said Maduro from Miraflores palace at the meeting for prevention, care and control of Covid-19.

Maduro explained that between May 15 and June 15 the impact on infections increased, data obtained through the Presidential Commission to address the situation of the coronavirus in the country.

The President sent a message to those who have been fleeing from neighboring countries, and who are not been treated, given the collapse of health in nations such as Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Chile, to not lend themselves to harm the Venezuelan family, as the Government has free care in all its hospital phases against Covid-19:

“The nationals are cared for, with all the health protocols and free of charge, they must comply with a quarantine, they are tested before and after, so that they arrive at their homes healthy (…), so that they do not infect their families”, He pointed out.

This Sunday the Venezuelan health authorities reported in the last 24 hours 419 new cases of Covid-19, the highest number since the first contagion was known.

He noted that 332 cases are by community transmission and 77 are imported, in addition to two new deaths; totaling 65 fatal victims by the disease.
