President Maduro: Venezuela is heading for parliamentary elections according to the constitution

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that Venezuela is heading towards the mandatory parliamentary elections, according to the period constitutionally met this 2020.

“At the appearance of the president of the Electoral Power, she made great announcements for the country, one was the unanimous approval of the regulation for the convocation of the parliamentary election in Venezuela that will allow to elect in this opportunity 277 deputies in the country”, detailed Maduro.

The head of state, stated that this is a greater representation, it is about 52% of state deputies and a nominal list that represents 48%, the 87 electoral circuits remain unchanged for the upcoming elections.

“A decision that we salute and applaud, because Venezuela is heading towards the mandatory parliamentary elections for 2020”, he said during an informative contact on Venezolana de Televisión.

He stressed that this will be the fifth election of the National Assembly during the Bolivarian process: “In 2005 the country elected, in 2010 we obtained a good result for all sectors, 92 deputies of ours, in 2015 for the fourth time, the opposition won there, with this same CNE, with the same voting machines, and now we are going to the fifth legislature”.

The national president indicated that the National Electoral Council announced the number of 87 political, national and regional parties that are going to participate in this contest.

“We are going to choose, we are working for the candidacies of the Great Patriotic Pole, we are very hopeful on that the people will elect a new National Assembly, and end this tragedy.”

He reiterated that with this democratic party. “Will end with Borges, Allup and Guaidó, who destroyed the National Assembly, those responsible for the failure of the Legislative Power in Venezuela, who now live as billionaires with the money they stole from the nation and the AN”.
