Chancellor Arreaza: OAS is in ruins for its servility to USA

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, said this Friday that the Organization of American States (OAS) is in ruins, due to the servility to the United States (USA) that has been made visible during the administration of its Secretary General, Luis Almagro.

«We cannot even affirm that the @OEA_oficial is in ruins. From it, only a series of rubble remains piled up in a corner of Washington, which inevitable final destination is the dustbin of history. Too bad, a multilateral organization pulverized by servility”, wrote the Venezuelan Chancellor in his account on the Twitter social network.

The publication was made by the Venezuelan diplomat in response to the OAS declaration – a body to which Venezuela no longer belongs – after a “debate” on the appointment of the new members of the National Electoral Council (CNE) by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), after the declaring of constitutional omission by the National Assembly (AN), which did not have the necessary votes to designate the members of the Electoral Power.

The proposal, as details the publication of the organization on the social network, was “approved” with 21 votes in favor, seven abstentions and six absent countries.

Since his arrival at the OAS General Secretariat, Almagro has been in charge of lashing out against Venezuela, to such an extent that the South American nation requested to withdraw from the agency, due to his interventionist actions.
