10 economic sectors will operate in time slots during the quarantine flexibilization plan

This Monday, June 1, 2020, a new phase of the social and voluntary quarantine flexibility plan begins in Venezuela for 10 sectors of the country’s economic, social and productive life, which will operate in special time slots, as a measure implemented by the Bolivarian Government for the protection of the Venezuelan people.

During the assessment of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Follow-up of COVID-19 from Miraflores Palace, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, explained on Sunday what is the design of time slots in the 5 by 10 plan for this new phase of quarantine easing. She indicated that it is a question of not all the Venezuelan people to coincide at the same time in the use of public transportation, nor in public spaces for transit.

“They are 5 days of work, flexibility (from Monday, June 1 to June 5), then 10 days of quarantine, to avoid any possibility of an outbreak of COVID-19 contagion”, she reaffirmed.

Economic sectors and time slots:

Starting this Monday, June 1, 2020, the 10 economic and productive sectors will start operating at the following times:

• Transportation: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Banking agencies from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, individuals from Monday to Thursday and legal entities on Fridays.
• Construction sector: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
• Hardware stores 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Medical and dental offices 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
• Hairdressers 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Textile and footwear industry sector 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Chemical raw material industry sector for agro-industry, personal hygiene and household cleaning from 09:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Auto parts and auto parts workshops from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
• Personalized services (refrigeration plumbing and others from 07:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Commerce sector and shopping centers will remain closed.

Likewise, the Executive Vice President stressed that the commerce and shopping centers sector will remain closed in this first stage of flexibility by sectors, however, hairdressers or medical offices that are in shopping centers will be authorized to provide services.

Collective consciousness of the people is key to new stages of flexibilization of quarantine “Only these 10 sectors are becoming more flexible in the first stage, other successive stages will come and will depend on the levels of collective consciousness of the Venezuelan people, that same level that It has allowed controlling the disease of COVID-19 and its chains of contagion”, she said.

In addition, Rodríguez indicated that those establishments that start commercial operations should place symbols or labels of red, yellow and green colors, according to the level of risk (high, moderate and light), in places of easy visualization to alert workers and clients; as well as crowds should be avoided so that there are no infections by the new Coronavirus.

High-risk establishments (red) include: health centers, hospitals, public transport, markets, elevators, and cinemas; at moderate risk: (yellow) gyms, banks and ATMs, supermarkets and restaurants, while at mild risk (green): medical offices, private vehicles and houses.

The Executive Vice President also confirmed that the quarantine has not ended: “The disease exists and COVID-19 is a virus that can be lethal; Therefore I call on the Venezuelan people to get protected with the mask that is mandatory, the physical distance of at least 1.5 meters, and to maintain personal hygiene measures”, she said.
