Officials from the Donald Trump administration commit crimes against humanity by blocking and confiscating Venezuela’s resources, while presenting themselves to the international community as «charitable lambs,» as denounced this Thursday the Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza.
The Chancellor described the alleged action to support Venezuelans by the United States government as an act of «hypocrisy», while recalling that the administration of the northern country prevents the acquisition of foodstuffs and medicines for the Venezuelan population through economic and financial pressure:
«This is the hypocrisy of those who generate suffering in Venezuela by blocking its resources, stealing its assets, threatening its suppliers and hindering imports of foodstuffs and medicines», he said, in response to a message released on Twitter by the secretary of state of the northern country, Mike Pompeo.
Earlier, Pompeo assured that «the US is proud to donate $200 million» for alleged humanitarian assistance and development for the Venezuelans, however the resources taken from the country exceed billions of dollars, according to denounces made by Venezuela.
In recent years, the US government has applied coercive and illegal measures against the Venezuelan economy and its normal relationship with global trade, as well as political and destabilization maneuvers in order to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro.
The measures have led to the confiscation of Venezuelan assets abroad such as the Citgo company, a subsidiary of state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), which is valued at about $ 34,000 million, in addition to the Monómeros company in Colombia, a subsidiary of Pequiven.
