Venezuela denounces to the UN terrorist actions promoted by the US

Venezuela denounced this Wednesday before the Security Council of the United Nations (UN), the repeated interventionist actions of the US, as a result of the incursion of mercenary groups that were organized, trained and financed by the governments of Colombia and the USA.

The information was released by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, in his account on the Twitter social network.

Likewise, Arreaza assured that the Donald Trump administration accuses Venezuela of not cooperating in the fight against terrorism, while the United States plans violent incursions against the country, together with the Colombian government: “While from the United States and Colombia they plan and execute a terrorist incursion against Venezuela, financed by drug trafficking, Washington accuses us of not cooperating in the fight against terrorism”, said the Chancellor.

“Such a cynical paradox”, added Arreaza, referring to a “certification of countries that do not fully cooperate with US efforts against terrorism”, an unilateral and illegal declaration in which are also included nations such as Syria and Cuba, as refers a note from the Venezuelan News Agency.

Earlier, the US State Department “Has notified the Congress that Iran, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Cuba were certified under Section 40A (a) of the Arms Export Control Act as not fully cooperating” with counter-terrorism efforts, as quotes the website of said department led by Mike Pompeo.

Regarding Venezuela, the US government assured that President Nicolás Maduro continued in 2019, as justifies the note, “providing permissive environments for terrorists in the region to maintain their presence”, despite the fact that the Venezuelan state security organs thwarted last Sunday, May 3, a terrorist incursion on the coasts of La Guaira state, which were organized from Colombia with the consent of the North American government.

The terrorist and paramilitary action was articulated by the US Office of Drug Administration and Control (DEA), with drug traffickers such as the head of the drug cartels in the Colombian Guajira, Elkis López, a.k.a. “Doble Rueda”, protected by the DEA in that region, according to the testimonies of the mercenaries captured on the Venezuelan coast.

In this context of support for drug trafficking by the United States, according to the denounces of the Venezuelan Executive, Washington repeats the rhetoric of linking and accusing President Maduro, with alleged crimes of association with drug trafficking, as well as cooperation with dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) and the National Liberation Army (ELN).
