Arreaza: Pompeo and Duque talk about “improving” the lives of Venezuelans with their countries in crisis

This Tuesday, the US Undersecretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, held a telephone conversation in which they claimed to be concerned about the lives of Venezuelans, “forgetting” the crisis in their own countries, because of of the coronavirus and the thousands of denounces of murders of social leaders and the increase in drug trafficking between the two nations.

These assertions were made by the Venezuelan chancellor, Jorge Arreaza, who described the situation of a diversionary tactic to undermine the public opinion of its citizens, after the social crisis in the United States and Colombia:.

«What a diversionary tactic: @SecPompeo and @IvanDuque talk and as always they announce that they talked about Venezuela. What about the increase in drug production? And the unpunished entry of drugs into the US? And the murders of social leaders? And the #COVID ー 19 humanitarian crisis in the US? ”Asked the Venezuelan diplomat on the Twitter network.

The United States exceeded on Monday the figure of one million people infected by the pandemic, with New York State being the most affected with 22,886 deaths; also with President Trump’s constant call to reopen the economy.

For its part, until Tuesday, Colombia registers 5,597 cases of infected people and 253 deaths. According to data collected by CNH of China, quoted by the website https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
