Bolivarian government and business sector signed fair prices agreement

The Bolivarian Government and different representatives of the business and productive sector signed an agreement on Monday to establish the prices of 27 items in the basic basket to meet the needs of the Venezuelan people in the face of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

During the meeting with all the representatives of the country’s productive forces, at Miraflores Palace, the Vice President for the Economic Area, Tareck El Aissami, highlighted the work carried out by the working class – represented in the more than 2,000 Councils of Productive Workers (CPT) – of the entrepreneurs who are working jointly with the National Executive to serve the population during quarantine.

“We are producing, producing within the framework of a complicated situation, with the protection of our workers, but we are advancing. Today we must make an acknowledgement of all the sectors, of the policies that we have promoted until now. We have the disposition of a government to attend its productive forces. We have real entrepreneurs. We have a truly productive business sector, which is the result of many years of efforts”, he stressed.

In this sense, he pointed out that these prices must be respected by all sectors, since they include the integral cost structure of elaboration of the products.

As part of the economic measures demanded by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to combat speculation against the Venezuelan people, last Friday, the National Government immediately activated a special plan for temporary occupation in the companies Coposa, in Portuguesa state; Alimentos Polar and the Turmero slaughterhouse, both in Aragua state.
