10,000 Venezuelans have returned to their homeland from Colombia

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported on Tuesday that more than 10,000 Venezuelans have entered the country through Colombia:

“These are compatriots who were victims of deception, seeking better fields of life, and they got contempt, misery, xenophobia and destruction,” he said during a work journey led from the Military Circle, in Caracas.

He noted that more than 3,000 Venezuelans have directly passed their quarantine with their PCR tests for the detection of COVID-19. Once the preventive quarantine has been completed, they are taken to their homes in any of the country’s entities.

He estimated that in the next few days will arrive to the Colombian-Venezuelan border 600,000 compatriots who “flee from misery, from the corona-hunger”.

Up to date, Colombia has more than 4,140 cases and 196 deaths registered due to the COVID-19 virus.
