FANB rejects interventionist pretensions against Venezuela

The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), expressed on Saturday its rejection of the smear campaign that right wing factors from abroad promote against the Venezuelan security bodies, and expressed their rejection on the claims of encouraging a foreign intervention in the country regarding recent statements by former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Velez, who asked in the United States last May 13 for an international army to lash out against the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela.
These statements were made by Uribe in the occasion of a meeting with spokesmen of the national and international extreme right wing, held in the city of Miami, which was also attended by former Spanish President Jose Maria Aznar and Lilian Tintori, wife of Leopoldo Lopez, who was sentenced in 2015 after being convicted on charges of public incitement, damages to property, arson and conspiracy, by the activation in 2014 of the «La Salida» (The Exit) coup plan.
In this regard, the FANB said in a statement signed by Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez, that Uribe’s performance «Is part of the preconceived script developed by powers of the world’s capitalist power with the lamentable support of internal groups, who seek to undermine the State institutions in order to promote destabilization, chaos and anarchy in their macabre plan to overthrow the legitimately constituted Government, ruining the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution in matters of social demands and consequently seizing the national wealth».
