President Maduro honors Simon Rodriguez 250 years after his birth


250 years ago was born the Liberator’s teacher, Simón Rodríguez, considered one of the most important intellectuals of the Americas in his time, and in that context the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the figure of this excellent Venezuelan.
The Head of State through his account on the Twitter social network wrote: “We celebrate 250 years of the birth of Simón Rodríguez. Born in Caracas, who led our Father of the Fatherland along the revolutionary roads, becoming his mentor. Robinson was a man ahead of his time, who left in the Americas the concept of the new liberating pedagogy”.
Rodriguez was born in Caracas on October 28, 1769 and died in Amotape, Peru, on February 28, 1854. He stood out for his deep knowledge of the Spanish-American society, which he later transmitted to Simón Bolívar by serving as his teacher and mentor.
Among his works are The Liberator of the Midday of the Americas and his comrades in arms, defended by a friend of the social cause, American Societies, Social Lights and virtues.
