Maduro met with UN Undersecretary of Public Affairs in Baku


The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held an official meeting on Saturday with the Undersecretary General of Public Affairs and Peacebuilding of the United Nations (UN), Rosemary DiCarlo, in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan.
The high-level meeting was held in parallel to the plenary of the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM), whose discussion revolves around the defense of the Bandung principles and the search for concerted responses to the challenges of the contemporary world.
From the Baku Convention Center, DiCarlo highlighted the leading role of the multilateral forum in strengthening cooperation between international and regional organizations.
In this regard, he urged the NAM to link with greater emphasis on international assistance, as well as the attention of the population’s problems.
Previously, the Venezuelan dignitary met with the president of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, where they addressed issues related to unilateral coercive measures and current affairs of the multipolar world.
