Historic victory of Venezuela by defeating the colonial enclave at the UN

“Today we proudly say Long Live the Free and Sovereign Venezuela! It is a day of victory for all patriots fighting for the second independence of Venezuela. The colonial enclave has been defeated. 105 countries of the world say to Venezuela: “we are with you, we trust you”. We appreciate global solidarity. ”
With this message through his account on the Twitter social network the Venezuelan ambassador to the United Nations Organization (UN), Samuel Moncada, celebrated the seat won by the nation in the body’s Human Rights Council.
The diplomat stressed that this victory of the Bolivarian Government constitutes an act of justice of International Law against the systematic attacks and interference of the Government of the United States (USA).
“Today is a historic day for our country. International law has triumphed and the attempt to impose a colonial enclave in Venezuela has failed. The UN has shown that it belongs to all humanity and not to a small group that wants to use it to impose its supremacy. We defend our right to self-determination and peace”, he wrote in another message.
The Venezuelan diplomat also thanked all the countries that supported Venezuela in one of the most difficult moments in its history:
“Never before have we gone to elections against such great and powerful forces, however, the risk of losing only strengthened our fighting mood because our cause is a joust one. We defend our right to self-determination and peace”, he said.
This election becomes even more significant after last April 10, the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, leading a coalition of more than 50 countries, unsuccessfully ordered in the Security Council the expulsion of Venezuela from the UN.
