Starts in Venezuela 6th Cultural Festival of the Peoples of Africa

This Wednesday the 6th Festival of the Peoples of Africa began in Caracas, an event that will show African culture to Venezuelans from October 9 until the 12th, as informed the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas:
“We are proud of our roots. We are a multicultural country that looks at our African brothers with different eyes than those of the North”, said Villegas during the inauguration ceremony that took place in the Ríos Reyna Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas.
The programming of this event has training spaces for cultural exchange in the communities of Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira states.
According to a note from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in the activity will participate artistic groups from Algeria, Republic of the Congo, Mali, Namibia and Senegal.
The invited artists will become spokespersons and defenders of Venezuela in the world, thus promoting the formation of a cultural platform in defense of Venezuela.
