The sectoral vice president and Minister for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz, reported on Tuesday that there are a total of 11,103,561 students throughout the national territory:
“8,244,051 students of the Basic Education Subsystem between initial, primary, middle, technical average have joined classes with joy. Progressively 2,859,520 university education students are added to reach 11,103,561 students throughout the national territory”, detailed Istúriz during a weekly balance of the Social and Territorial Cabinet held at the headquarters of the Ministry of People’s Power for Education (MPPE), in Caracas.
He also stressed that more than 30% of the Venezuelan population study in a public education system, free and with all the support offered by the Bolivarian Government through the provision of tools, uniforms, the Bicentennial (books) Collection, Canaimitas (tablets).
In the work journey led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, Istúriz announced the inauguration of five new secondary education schools that are incorporated into the Bolivarian Education System.
In that sense, the National President urged to strengthen the repair of schools, high schools and a special plan for the construction of a new educational infrastructure for the Venezuelan students «The time has come for expansion!», he said.
