Chancellor Arreaza denounces Bolsonaro accusations that seek to create tension with Colombia

On Thursday night, the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced the recent communiqué by the Government of Brazil, in which Venezuela is accused of supporting the dissent of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP):
“Such an impudence that of the government chaired by a worshiper of Pinochet and other despots. Venezuela has always been a peace force in South America and has always accompanied the negotiation processes in Colombia, in strict adherence to international law”, wrote Arreaza on Twitter.
His message was accompanied by a link to the information by the EFE news agency, entitled “Brazil repudiates Venezuela’s support for FARC dissidents”, which refers to a communiqué from the Brazilian government.
With such a statement, the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, dismisses Venezuela’s effort to resume the dialogue between the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP, to reach a new peace agreement.
Venezuela constantly ratifies its commitment to consolidate peace in Colombia, after the return by a group of FARC-EP dissidents to the armed struggle, due to the breach, by the government of Colombian President Iván Duque, of the Peace Agreements signed in 2016, in Cartagena de Indias.
Previously, the Venezuelan Chancellor rejected the statements made by Bolsonaro, in which he vindicates the coup d’ etat by Augusto Pinochet in Chile, which led to a 17-year dictatorship, with more than 40,000 victims, including 3,065 who were killed or disappeared.
On August 29, a group of FARC-EP dissidents reported that they would resume the armed struggle after the breach of the Peace Agreements, after four years of talks between the Colombian Government and the insurgent group, held in Havana, Cuba.
