TSJ dictates deprivation of liberty against two involved in terrorism

The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) issued a preventive deprivation of liberty measure against citizens Luis Ricardo Gómez Peñaranda and Pedro Pablo Santana Carballo, in accordance with articles 236, 237 and 238 of the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure.
The verdict was issued by the Third Special Court of First Instance in Control Functions with Jurisdiction Related to Crimes Associated with National Jurisdiction and Competence to hear and decide on Crimes Associated with Corruption and Organized Crime, as notes a Press release by the highest justice body in Venezuela.
Such citizens would allegedly be involved in the commission of the crimes of terrorism, illicit trafficking of firearms and association, provided for and sanctioned in articles 52, 30 and 57 of the Organic Law Against Organized Crime and Financing of Terrorism.
Likewise, the Court agreed to the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) as a place of confinement.
