Maduro: The US has failed in its attempt to end the Bolivarian Revolution

“The current government of the United States of America, chaired by Donald Trump, has assumed an obsessive, aggressive, totally intolerant, an ideological position regarding the Bolivarian Revolution, and I think it has failed”, said the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
The President indicated that the US has gone from one failure to another in the last three years and the whole world has seen it that way.
“They failed in 2017, when the violence of what was called in Venezuela the “Guarimbas” (riots); they failed trying to prevent (the election and setting of) the National Constituent Assembly and the elections of governors and mayors where we came out in a successful and victorious manner; they failed in 2018 trying to sabotage and prevent the presidential elections that were held in a legal, constitutional and successful manner; and this 2019 they have tried to give a coup d’etat imposing a totally unconstitutional, illegitimate and illegal government, and tightening everything that has to do with financial persecution and economic blockade”, explained Maduro.
However, he confirmed that at this stage of the year, in what he called “the final stretch of 2019″, the US has also failed in its attempt to end the Bolivarian Revolution:
“They have hurt us, and so I denounce it to the world. A great damage has been made to the quality and standard of living of the people of Venezuela. But we are able to continue moving forward, despite these aggressions”, acknowledged Maduro.
For this reason, he thanked the Chinese government’s position in defense of international law, in support of Venezuela and in solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution. He also highlighted the joint work of both countries within the United Nations to denounce all the illegal actions that the US government has taken against Venezuela and China.
Interference in Hong Kong:
President Maduro highlighted the similarities between the destabilization methods that the US government has applied in Venezuela, and now against China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region:
“We see that they apply the same method that they have applied several times in Venezuela of the so-called color revolutions, in order to destabilize Hong Kong and to try to create a serious problem in the field of Chinese sovereignty”, said the Venezuelan president. For this reason, he expressed his rejection of the interventionist opinions of the US government regarding the issue:
“I believe that we must unite, the forces of reason and international law, to reject all these interventionist policies”, he said.
