Oil Minister denounced sabotage against gas plant in Miranda state


The Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum, Manuel Quevedo, sent a message on Saturday through his account on the Twitter social network in which he described as an act of sabotage the explosion that took place in the Apacuana gas cylinder filling plant located in the Tomás Lander municipality, Ocumare del Tuy, Miranda state.
The senior official also told the press that the flames have already been stifled and the situation was controlled by the Firefighters, Civil Protection, the FANB, the National Militia and the various police bodies in the sector.
As a result of the explosion, a company worker, who dispatches approximately 5,000 bottles in the area, suffered burns. The injured person is being treated at a Medical Center in Valles del Tuy.
Two prosecutors appointed by the Public Ministry began investigations to determine responsibilities.
“We want to denounce the extreme violent terrorist right behind the acts of sabotage that are intended to alter citizen peace and disrupt public services,” said Quevedo.
