Venezuela rejects attack registered this Wednesday in the city of Erbil in Iraq


The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiated the attack on Wednesday in the Iraqi city of Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq, which left three people dead, including a Turkish vice-consul.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela deeply regrets the pain that befalls the family and friends of the Turkish diplomat, expresses his solidarity and vows for the prompt recovery of the injured people,” said the communiqué published by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on its website.
According to international media, a man armed with two rifles opened fire in a restaurant frequented by Turkish diplomats. Until now, the suspect has not been arrested.
Among the dead – as reported the Iraqi National News Agency (INNA) – is the vice-consul of the Turkish nation.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and the Venezuelan people, expresses his condemnation and total repudiation of the armed attack that took place in the city of Erbil, Republic of Iraq, today, July 17. 2019, in which a diplomatic official of the sisterly Republic of Turkey lost his life.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela deeply regrets the pain that befalls the relatives and friends of the Turkish diplomat, expresses its solidarity and vows for the speedy recovery of the injured persons.
The Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to promote peace and healthy coexistence among the nations and peoples of the world, as well as the interest to continue working for justice and international cooperation”.
