Ambassador Valero reads at the UN letter from President Maduro to Bachelet

The ambassador of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Jorge Valero, reads a letter sent by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the agency, Michelle Bachelet.
The letter refers to the recent report issued by Bachelet on the situation in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan Chancellory, through a message posted on the Twitter social network, reported that Valero consigned on Friday to the office of the High Commissioner, the letter in defense of the dignity of the Venezuelan people.
The Head of State denounced that the aforementioned report is loaded with lies and Bachelet must rectify: “Venezuela, through the Foreign Ministry, has already demanded a rectification of the lies, falsehoods, of the report read by Bachelet, and I am personally sending a letter to the commissioner with several truths”, he said recently.
In addition, the president asked the high commissioner not to lend herself to fascism or interventionism. He stressed that the former president of Chile followed instructions from the State Department of the United States and Elliott Abrams, US charge of Affairs with Venezuela.
He explained that reading the document was a false step by Bachelet: “It is a repetition, a dogmatic reading of the reports of the former commissioner. I believe (Bachelet) took a false step when reading a report that was prepared by the State Department,” he said.
The President also noted that the High Commissioner refused to listen to the political truths of Venezuela, and succumbed to Abrams’ pressures.
