Following, the complete text:
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela informs its people and the world that on Monday morning, July 8, 2019, the Venezuelan delegation arrived in Barbados to continue with the peace dialogue, sponsored by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway and started with the Venezuelan opposition on May 14 this year.
Based on the permanent search for instances of exchange and coexistence, the Bolivarian Government assumes the immense desire of the people of Venezuela – beyond the political positions that every person legitimately assume – to defend its independence and sovereignty, and to settle our social and political issues in strict adherence to democratic norms and our Constitution.
True to what has been said, the Venezuelan delegation categorically condemns the persistent statements made by deputy Juan Guaidó, as well as his communique published on July 7, which promotes violence, insult, unconstitutionality and a bipolar rhetoric that does not correspond with the guidelines presented by the sponsors of the dialogue and accepted by the parties on May 25, 2019. In the same way, these practices violate the six-point agenda approved since March of this year. This dishonest form of political exercise in no way contributes to the supreme goal of this process of dialogue, namely the reaffirmation of peace and democratic coexistence.
The delegation of the Bolivarian Government has waited, with strategic patience, and in the interest of defending the peaceful ways of political action and conflict resolution, that the different factions of the Venezuelan opposition resolve or mitigate the deep divergences existing within them. continue with the dialogue facilitated by Norway. Are not the lies, nor the childish microphone policy, the best resources to guarantee the good end of this stage of the talks.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela takes the vow, and will make every effort, so that this process of negotiation will lead us to the installation and consolidation of a permanent dialogue table for peace. That is the cry of the Venezuelan men and women of good”.
