Venezuela expresses condolences to the Government and People of Russia for victims of naval accident


The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela expressed its solidarity with the Russian Federation for the tragic naval accident that occurred on July 1, 2019, in which a scientific research vessel belonging to the fleet of the Russian army caught fire, resulting in the death of 14 officers, including two national heroes.
Following is the full text of the Communiqué:
“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and People, expresses to the Government and the People of the Russian Federation his profound regret at the tragic naval accident that occurred on July 1, 2019, in which a scientific research vessel belonging to the fleet of the Russian army caught fire, leaving as a result the death of 14 officers, including two national heroes.
In virtue of this circumstance, the Government and People of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela send their most heartfelt words of condolences and fraternal solidarity to the relatives of the 14 deceased officers and vows for the eternal rest of their souls.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its desire for the tranquility and peace of the people of Russia.”
