The embassy of the Republic of China in Venezuela celebrated on Tuesday the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries. The representatives of each country expressed their commitment to advance in the bilateral exchange.
The ambassador of China in Venezuela, Li Baorong, said that at present the two countries have a good friendship and have mutual political trust.
“Dear Vice President (Delcy Rodríguez) and dear friends, the historical experience of the 45 years shows that the China – Venezuela friendship constitutes a precious and shared wealth. It brings us to a new starting point both sides, ready to move forward, united, to consolidate and promote bilateral exchanges, safeguard international justice”, added Baorong.
The ambassador commemorated the establishment of the China-Venezuela Strategic Partnership between Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
“In September last year, on the tenth visit of Maduro to China, both presidents reached the important consensus of taking the Association to a higher level”, he said.
He also recalled the visit of the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to the Asian nation to preside over the Sixteenth Meeting of the China-Venezuela High Level Commission, in which 28 agreements were signed.
“All these successes would not have been achieved without the support of you and all the departments concerned. Taking advantage of this occasion, he expressed the sincere thanks to the efforts and facilities given to our embassy”, added the Chinese diplomat.
At the end, Baorong reflected on the role that China has in the international field to set itself as the second economic power, after reaching in the first quarter of 2019 a gross domestic product (GDP) of 3,180 billion dollars, plus other economy aspects of international importance.
The activity was attended by Vice President Rodríguez, who said: “45 years after our diplomatic relations, today we are more committed than ever to forging a different humanity, which is far from the warmongering imposition of already decadent empires”.
The Vice President highlighted the relevant position of China in the world, along with other countries such as Russia, in the construction of a new way of doing politics and establishing diplomatic ties of mutual cooperation.
The Venezuelan representative recalled that thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez, Venezuela and China enjoy good relations and thus 730 joint projects were executed in different areas of the economy. He said that currently the two countries are developing 500 projects.
“These relations have been consolidated thanks to President Nicolás Maduro. More than 10 visits has made the President as an expression of the importance of our relationships”, he said.
