Venezuela and Russia reviewed agreements on regional security


The Secretary General of the Council of Defense of the Nation (CODENA) of Venezuela, Pascualino Angiolillo Fernández, and the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, met to review cooperation agreements between both nations related to regional security and security. security of the countries.
When interviewed by the Russian news agency Sputnik, Angiolillo highlighted the support provided by the government of Vladimir Putin, before the constant threats of interventionism promoted from the United States (USA):
“The most interesting thing is that we received not only the support of the Russian Government, but the support of the Russian people, we have received during our stay this week the solidarity of the inhabitants of Russia,” said the Secretary General of CODENA.
In this regard, Angiolillo explained that, in addition to the meeting with representatives of the Central European nation, the Venezuelan delegation that participated in the Annual International Security Forum – held between June 18 and 20 in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in Russia – held meetings with other allies:
“We sit down to talk with our strategic allies, and the strategic allies of Venezuela: are the People’s Republic of China, Iran, our beloved sister Nicaragua, our beloved Bolivia,” he emphasized, quoted by the website of the Russian news agency.
Since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by commander Hugo Chávez, Venezuela and Russia have signed more than 260 cooperation agreements in areas such as medicine, tourism, agriculture, mining and oil.
The last agreement signed between both nations occurred on June 9, when Venezuela and Russia signed an alliance between the companies Espromed Bio (Venezuela) and the Russian pharmaceutical company Geropharm for the production of insulin in the South American nation.
This agreement provided that Russia provide the country with 680,000 of this drug per month, which represents 8.2 million units per year, as well as the technological development and training of personnel – taught by the Russian pharmaceutical company – for the local production of insulin.
