President Maduro invited EU special advisor to visit Venezuela


The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, extended an invitation to visit the country to the newly appointed Special Adviser of the European Union for Venezuela, Enrique Iglesias.
Arreaza unveiled the news in a message posted on his Twitter account @jaarreaza, where he reported that he had a cordial telephone conversation with Iglesias, who comes from occupying the Ibero-American General Secretariat and presiding over the Inter-American Development Bank.
The Uruguayan economist of Spanish origin, who headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay between 1985 and 1988, “will support the work of the EU and the International Contact Group to help promote a peaceful and democratic solution to the crisis in Venezuela”, said the EU in a statement.
The Venezuelan Chancellor spoke with Iglesias about the process of dialogue that takes place in Oslo, the capital of Norway, in which is participating a delegation of the National Government headed by the sectoral vice-president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez, with the firm disposition of achieving the peace of the Republic.
