The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Thursday the creation of the National Telecommunications and Postal Services Corporation of Venezuela, a company that will group all socialist and private companies in the field of Telecommunications.
The goal of this company is to promote the development of present and future telecommunications capabilities in the country; With this measure, the Cantv, Movilnet, Telecom, Venezuela’s Broadcasting Network, Gran Caribe Communications and Ipostel companies will be unified.
At the head of this Corporation will be the Colonel of the Bolivarian National Guard, president of the National Commission of Telecommunications of Venezuela (CONATEL) and current minister of the People’s Power of the Office of the Presidency, Monitoring and Control of Government Management, Jorge Márquez Monsalve.
In addition, the National President ordered the necessary negotiations and the necessary investment to boost the capabilities and quality of fourth-generation telecommunications with the Asian giant companies Huawei and ZTE.
