The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a high level meeting with the International Contact Group for Venezuela (GIC) at Miraflores Palace.
The National President welcomed in Office One representatives of the European Union, among which are highlighted Juan Pablo de LaIglesia, from Spain; Ricardo Merlo, from Italy; José Luis Carneiro, from Portugal; Annika Söder, from Sweden; Ariel Bergamino, from Uruguay; Hugo Sobral, from the European External Action Service (SEAE) and Isabel Brilhante, Ambassador of the European Union (EU).
The GIC promotes a dialogue where is promoted the common understanding that guarantees peace in the country.
It should be noted that President Maduro has called meetings with all sectors of the country in more than 400 opportunities. It has also convened for a Great Journey of Dialogue, Action and Proposals, which covers social movements, politicians, state authorities and popular power in order to rectify government strategies.
