TSJ rejected attempt of a coup d' etat

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Maikel Moreno, expressed himself in rejection of the attempted coup d’état promoted by a small group of military and civilian personnel.
During a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, he indicated that through this action, openly illegal, «they intend to take by force the political power of the nation, against the Constitution and the laws in force in the country».
Moreno called on the people to remain calm, while ensuring that «from the Judiciary we ratify that we will ensure, within the framework of our competences, what is stipulated in the current legal system».
