Juan Guaidó was disabled to exert any public office

The measure was announced this Thursday by the Comptroller General of the Republic, Elvis Amoroso, and it is subject to the provisions of Article 105 of the Law of the Comptroller General of the Republic.
By virtue of this, Juan Guaidó has been disabled for a period of 15 years, the maximum time established in the norm, to exert any public office due to the concealment of patrimonial information and the reception of undeclared funds.
In a press conference, Amoroso presented part of the information contained in the patrimonial audit made to the deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, highlighting, among other data, that the aforementioned official has made more than 91 trips abroad with a ticket cost higher than the 310 million bolivars.
To the previous figure are added expenses for the stay that amount to 200 million bolivars. Guaidó – he said -, since taking office as deputy has been more than 248 days out of the country, more than eight months.
Amoroso stressed that the deputy not only has mobilized on commercial airlines, but has also used private aircraft, and in neither case has he justified the source of the funds used to finance these trips.
The Comptroller General of the Republic instructed the National Integrated Service of Customs and Tax Administration (SENIAT) to supervise the hotels within the national territory, where the opposition deputy stayed, to determine who assumed the costs generated by this concept.
Likewise, Amoroso requested the Public Ministry to exercise “the corresponding actions” in this case. For its part, the Directorate of Sworn Heritage Declaration of the Comptroller will continue with the sanction procedure against Guaidó.
