Maduro: We are defeating the coup d'état of the oligarchy

«We are in a patriotic march defeating the failed coup d’etat by the oligarchies. We are in a patriotic civic-military march, raising the flags of independence and respect for Venezuela». With these words, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratifies the solidity of his government after 14 days of the self-proclamation of the deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, Juan Guaidó, as president of the interim executive branch.
During the ceremony for the commemoration of the 27th anniversary of the military rebellion of February 4 (1992), which took place in the honor courtyard of the 422nd Parachutists Battalion » Antonio Nicolás Briceño», in Aragua state, he assured that he will continue to govern along with the people for the six remaining years that correspond to him at the front of the first magistrature of the nation.
Maduro claimed to be the bearer of the banners of freedom and truth, a truth that was born 27 years ago with the military rebellion led by Hugo Chávez against the International Monetary Fund, neoliberalism, oligarchy and surrenderism.
He exhorted the «decent and independent» governments of the world to reject Donald Trump’s new threats against Venezuela, on which were not ruled out the use of military force in the country: «It is the warmongering madness that has taken over the White House», exclaimed the Venezuelan leader.
Maduro wondered what is the cause of the US to declare a military war against Venezuela: «(Is it) Oil, iron, aluminum, gold, diamonds, water, gas, the seas?. (Is it) Bolivar, Chavez, the dignity of a people?» He asked.
He described as a «bravado warmongering» the position assumed by the US leader against Venezuela, recalling that such threats openly violate the Charter of Nations, which prohibits «the use of force against any country in the world.»
