The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected on Tuesday unilateral measures by the United States (US) where they want to take control of the bank accounts that are in the name of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and the Venezuelan Government, as part of the coup d’état that It is executed from the North American nation.
Through a statement, Venezuela described this action as «a blatant robbery of the resources of a sovereign nation for the welfare of its people, revealing another edge of the coup plan activated directly from the White House, in order to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro and to seize the financial and natural resources of the People of Venezuela».
In this regard, Venezuela informed that the corresponding legal measures will be taken in response to these actions, «and thus face this new aggression and this undeniable imperial obsession to take control over oil, mineral and financial resources».
This Monday, the US Department of State applied new unilateral sanctions to Venezuela, this time directed to the subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), in the United States, CITGO.

«The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the unilateral, arbitrary and legal measures announced by the Donald Trump government in order to take control of bank accounts in the name of the Venezuelan Government and the Central Bank of Venezuela, open in financial institutions located in the United States of America.
There is no other way to describe this action than that of blatant theft to a sovereign nation of resources destined for the welfare of its people, revealing another edge of the coup plan activated directly from the White House, in order to overthrow the President Nicolás Maduro and to seize the financial and natural resources of the People of Venezuela.
Abusive actions such as these should alert the international community regarding the legal uncertainty of the US financial system, in which the rules of the game are violated by the government itself, without due process mechanisms or minimum guarantees for capital and international investments.
This act of piracy by the Trump Administration joins the growing list of mistakes made by its bizarre government in relation to its international obligations in commercial, environmental, nuclear and now financial matters, a behavior that seriously undermines its commitment to reorder international geopolitics on a whim and by force.
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, will evaluate and take the corresponding legal measures to face this new aggression and this unconcealed imperial obsession to take control over the oil, mineral and financial resources of Venezuela, the Venezuelan people will remain firm in defense of its Constitution, which is the main guarantee of its democracy, its sovereignty and its freedom.
